General Data Protection Regulation – Personal Data

The GDPR or “General Data Protection Regulation” governs how any personal data must be processed, collected, and erased. It introduces a right for individuals to have erased any personal data. This right to erase is also described as “the right to be forgotten”. People can make an appeal for information to be erased either in writing or verbally and you or an agency you own or operate will have one month to reply to such an appeal. This new right was written about in the press especially in 2014 when a judgment made by the Court of Justice in the EU set up the standard for the” right to erasure” requirement contained in the GDPR.
